In foreground, an old mining pit which contributed to the economic development of East Broughton ( the town in the background). Without the many mines in that area, the size of the town would be smaller.

Bonsoir Denis,

Bravo!

Morning Denis
you can clearly see the old mining pit, never seen one like this before, with trees growing up out of them over time.
Very interesting, and even educational.
Nice work here

Bonsoir Denis,
very interesting register. The perspective of the mining and your play with the layers in curves is what makes the image reading so pleasant. I also like the golden light and the depth. Although this is not natural we can understand it as a landscape postcard. Great work!

Hello, Denis!
Beautiful picture of a wonderful landscape, but the greatest here, in my opinion, are the clouds, which look like in 3D. Wonderful composition! Good job!

Mes salutations Denis

Good morning Denis,
a nice panoramic view of the quarry filling with the water, and the growing town on the far end to be supported from the lots of mines of the area.I like the good management of the image as the saturated colours of the water.
Have a nice weekend,Danos

Hello Denis,
This old mining pit looks very picturesquely in your picture. Very beautiful and unusual view. Excellent composition with the equally interesting foreground and background. Perfectly good quality with ideal detail contrast and sharpness, that makes the air looking so clear and transparent. Great job!

Hi Denis,
It's good to see that an activity so polluting as mining doesn't seem to have damaged the landscape. It's a beautiful photo, with an impressive clarity and a superb POV. I like the sense of depth and the way the scarped border of the lake leads the eye to the town in the distance. Great sky, also.
I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Bonjour Denis,
This is the grand kind of scene that I have often tried to capture with little success, So let me see if I can figure out what you did to make this work. The late light turns the foreground cliff to gold and allows the opposite cliff to block the sun making the water contrast well with its deep, rich blue (no wind-ruffled glare to compete with the cliffs). The the curve of the river draws us to the sun on the distant field which adds depth and draws attention to the village. Finally the lazy clouds add interest to the sky. This is a deceptively simple composition; everything had to be just right for it to work.

Denis,
This is a well composed shot using the water to lead the eye into the shot. The terraced walls add a nice repeating pattern through the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

Bonjour Denis
