Photographer's Note
From the entrance to Moraine Lake near the parking lot there is a pile of rocks that is used as a viewpoint. The ascent includes with a pleasant rock stairway where all the tourists arrive in bus droves to view the beauty of this lake. They tend to run up in haste, and express their oohs and awhhs, and then run back to the bus to the next destination.
This gentleman caught my attention because for the whole time I was up here. He simply stood there motionless for the longest time. Taking advantage of this opportunity I came up with this photo. His silence and stillness calmed my inner spirit and soon I was caught up with the beauty of dawns unfolding colorful display before me. This made me think.
Whatever amazing feat or incredible achievement that mankind can achieve in this world by the work of his hands, he stands alone and is insignificant in relationship to the wonders of this natural world. One can take these stones and build a castle, or pause for a moment and become enraptured in the beauty and the wonder.
In the upper right corner of the frame the canoes wait to be rented out in a few minutes. I was glad that I had the chance to stand in silence like this man taught me that morning. Enjoy.

Trθs jolie composition aux tons bleus. L'homme semble fascinι, comme nous, par ces superbes reflets sur les eaux ιtonnamment calmes du lac.

A different and original image of this beautiful place, which is usually photographed always with from the same pov. The person looking at the landscape, which is visible only through its reflection, is a very good idea.

Hello,
Good idea of picture in blue mood with only the reflection. Nice to have the lonely man inside the frame: it puts a piece of life inside this landscape.
I think it would have been better not to include the colored boats, but it is clearly a minor point.

Excellent shot, one of the best I've seen on TE recently. The mood of the place is amazingly transmitted here. Light is fantastic, of course.

Wonderful feeling of depth created by the rocks. Everything in good and well balanced proportion. Lovely reflections of the rugged peaks and tree tops. Nice cool colors. Regards. Latiff.

Hi Paul
Sometimes it pays to put the camera down and just appreciate the view. I know I did that at Bryce Canyon because not that many people got up to see the sunrise. It was a real treat. This is an excellent POV as the man is well placed in the scene and just the reflections of the BG mountains are included.

Hi Paul,
I agree to Alexander, this is really one of the best photos that has been posted recently. And the accompanying note is also excellent!
What a fantastic atmosphere, almost unreal. The man in black plays an important role but the boats are adding a very charming touch of down to earthness (I hope you know what I mean!)Fantastic photo work!
Warm regards

Hi Paul
The colourful boats you mentioned really add a splash to the otherwise monochromatic visual.
The water so so still and clear you wouldn't know different if not for the movement on the far right.
i agree, that with the man standing there, it truly adds a moment of self reflection, almost a sense of spirituality.
Certainly a well captured moment.
Thanks Paul
hope your Monday is a good one

Hi Paul,
what you said is what I thought when in the last month of August I was there in early morning to take advantage of the light and of few people.
Great shot!!!

Hi Paul
A reflective moment captured.
Fantastic details seen on those rocks in the FG.
A soft reflection in the beautiful blue water.
Followed by clearly focused tree-line and boats in the BG.
Congratulations on this memorable image.
PS. Thx for all your comments, Craig was happy you liked his photo more than mine :)
Take care,
Tosca

Bonjour Paul.
Beau travail !

Paul,
This truly a great and original composition. I like it how it gives the sense of scale and distance, and how you didn't take the obvious route framing it.
