Photographer's Note
This image has been sitting in my "ready to post" file for too long, so today is the day. Not that it's anything special or particulary unusual, but it is a good representation of summer on Nose Hill in Calgary, Alberta. Nose Hill is in the northwest of the city and has thankfully been spared commercial development. Rather, there are miles of walking/cycling trails with perfect places for people and their pets. It's nature at it's best. I have seen deer often, and flowers abound in season. For more of my images, click HERE

It looks like very arid growing ground, yet these pink flowers seem to be thriving. It always amazes me when I see plants and even trees growing right out of rock. The sky is also very attractive and deserves its share of the image.

Hi Gerald,
Excellent light and colors but the best of all is the composition.The price you had to pay for such nice colors and light in the foreground was the slight overexposure which has blown out the clouds in some areas.
Well, this is just a technical information but as a description of the Nose Hill Environmental park this is a very fine piece of art.

Ces fleurs sont le petit dιtail qui attire l'oeil vers l'avan plan, mais c'est ce ciel qui reste quand mκme pour moi, le point d'orgue de cette photo aux couleurs attirantes et fortes.
Une parfaite exposition des munages.

Hi Gerald,
Not a typical scene that I associate with Canada, but that is shallow of me to think that Canada is all about the Rockies and glacier lakes and meadows. Anyway, beuatiful show with rich earth tone and beuatify sky with puffy clouds for great contrast and the pink flowers are popping out of the screen. Good clarity, good details and nice composition.

The lovely pink wild flowers look very impressive growing out of this barren bluff with the beautiful blue sky and and big clouds looming above.
The sky and grass contrast brilliantly in this lovely summer scene.
