Photographer's Note
India have its Taj Mahal, Paris have its Eiffel Tower, New York have its Chrysler Building and Canadian Rockies have... its Maligne boat house...
Yep! A simple shack renting canoes where army of tourists congregate, snapping this little hut from every possible angles.
My guess is that the surrounding contributes a lot to the whole thing, as it is located on Maligne Lake, a pristine area surrounded by mountains and glaciers. But at ten o'clock, I was the only clown over there, maybe with a couple of bears watching me...

Hello Andre,
This is a beautiful view of this place. The sharpness and bright colours are perfect in this image. Good perspective of this moment and place. This is not necessarily a beautiful building but in this setting and under the evening light it certainly look majestic. Thanks Andre :-)

Hi Andre.
Another lovely masterpiece of course! The reflection is impressive, my compliments.
I suppose you had a gun with you to defend from the bears, didn't you? hahahahahaha

Bonjour Andre ,
Bravo

Hello André! Yes it IS amazing that a simple boat house is the winner and yet it is sometimes THESE romantic things that make our hearts jump, it does not always have to be much. A wonderful picture, I love the light that comes from this house, a little warm sign in the middle of rocks and glaciers. I bet you had some bears watching ... Barbara.

Namaste Cousin,
Bonne journee jY

Andre,
This is a fantastic shot! The reflection is outstanding giving the photo excellent symmetry and depth. You captured the early blue hour perfectly blending the natural and artificial lighting nicely. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.
The off center placement and angle of the boathouse is perfect making for great composition.

Superbe.

Hi Andre
You have truly taken me there, photograph as said should evoke the viewer's curiosity and should make him think. This really does make me think a lot of things including how you managed to get such a picture perfect!
I can truly relive that moment through your photograph, nothing more to say... Great job...

We once went on a raft from here: daytime of course, with the rest of the army!
This is stunning. They must have a reason for lighting it up, as I'm sure the bears won't appreciate it. They no doubt knew you were coming. ;D The view of course is worth the photo on its own, but the boat house really is a treat. The reflection is so perfect you could rotate the image and we wouldn't guess. Perfectly exposed and composed to emphasise the symmetry, but nicely off-set.
Excellent shot! You're back with a bang!

Bonjour/Namaste Andre
This deserves to be printed large size & hung up on the wall! Brilliant exposure...even though the peaks in the far end are having the bluish tinge, yet they are distinct from the sky colours...and the 'Taj' stands out amidst all the blue, with the mirror reflection. Magnifique photo d'un grand photographe!
Best Regards

André: Like many others I don't really take TE that seriously anymore: the inexorable maw of advertising that's consuming the whole thing, etc. I thought you had joined the diaspora and become an émigré to another site. Nevertheless, this is some special photography that Henk would wink at. Congrats. Drop a line when you can. c

Hi Andre,
It certainly is a very different atmosphere at blue hour than being there in the morning light.
You really have captured the old boat house in all it's glory and warmth, and the serenity of the still surrounding lake and mountains is tangible through your shot. A great shot with a perfect mirror image

Andre,
I cannot believe how crispy and sharp your photo is.
I know you are an excellent photographer, but is I think that the MarkIII and the f2.8USM have something to contribute. Isn't it?
Perfect composition and all other technical stuff.
well done

Indeed we often see photos form this spot, allthough I did not see so many times this place from this angle.
I do like your note about the place!
The light inhere is fantastic. The composition too.
Abslolutely stunning is, of course, the reflection.
Supperb! Thanks for sharing it with us.
