Photographer's Note

This is my fourth posting of the Vancouver TE Meeting from last Sunday. I found it to be a real learning and enjoyable experience with fellow Trekearth photographers. I found this to be an interesting study in exposure. Here ares some considerations.

One of the most important aspects of good photography is to simply learn how to see the light. Of all the photos I took at the waterfront this one stands out above the rest for one simple reason. And that is the light intensity in the sky and colors captured in the water. The lighting in this frame takes on a wonderful appeal because part of the direct sunlight is blocked by some of these buildings to create a certain amount of dynamic lighting. And also just enough shadow lighting to bring in the details of the boats on the waterfront. Not too much adjusting needed here. I think that one of these boats might be Jimmy Pattison's yacht in the bay. Enjoy the view!
