Photographer's Note
Happy Sundays Everyone,
I took this photo at Windsor Art Garden,Canada before I cross the Bridge and go home:)
I added to Windsor,Canada but my note is all about Detroit because that's what you see here mostly beside Canadian Fisherman:)
I have more Detroit Skyline(closer GM Tower)photos without fisherman or windsor and will probably post one next week!
Cheers and Have a Great Week,
CT Pehlivan of Indianapolis,Indiana/USA
PS.I also added another version of this photo as a WS please, check it out and let me know which one you like most and why.
Detroit (French: Dιtroit, meaning strait, pronounced [detwa]) is the largest city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the seat of Wayne County. Detroit is a major port city located north of Windsor, Ontario, on the Detroit River, in the Midwest region of the United States. It is known as the world's traditional automotive center and an important source of popular music, legacies celebrated by the city's two familiar nicknames, Motor City and Motown.[3][4] Founded in 1701 by the Frenchman Antoine de Cadillac, the city was called the Paris of the West in the late nineteenth century for its architecture. Other nicknames emerged in the twentieth century, including Rock City, The D, D-Town, Hockeytown, and The 313 (its area code).[5]
In 2006, Detroit ranked as the United States' eleventh most populous city, with 871,121 residents[6]. At its peak, the city was the 4th largest city in the country, but has steadily declined in population since the 1960's. The name Detroit sometimes refers to the metro Detroit area, a sprawling region with a population of 4,468,966 for the Metropolitan Statistical Area and a population of 5,410,014 for the nine county Combined Statistical Area as of the 2006 Census Bureau estimates. The Windsor-Detroit area, a critical commercial link straddling the Canada-U.S. border, has a total population of about 6,000,000. Detroit's urbanized area population sat at 3,903,377 as of 2000, ranking it ninth largest in the United States.

Hello Chris,
A pleasant composition with a fine feeling of depth!
Great details in the Detroit architecture in spite of the distance and some haze...
Nice work, my friend!

The river looks so expansive here, more so than it is. Especially having the lone fisherman and just that little bit of the quay in the corner and the skyline way out there really creates that expansiveness. Also the perspective of the4 river, getting wider as it gets closer with no end in sight for the increase in width also goes toward creating an expansive feel. Of course there's the usual haze in the background obscuring the skyline in the distance but that's to be expected this time of year.
After I saw this I had to look at my archives and in fact the one I took from approximately this same spot http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo62391.htm "Early Bird Catches the Worm" was taken 3 years and 2 days earlier. Maybe this guy is the same guy in the foreground of my picture, now a little heavier from all the fish he's caught. :)

Detroit skyline is not the one I admired until now CT, just 2-3 weeks ago I drove to downtown and realised the new "Riverfront" is awesome. it is very people friendly and had great activities. W.r.to population, it is a concerned point that people steadily leave the city/state because of various reasons. Disntant cityscape has come very well with one lonely fisherman on the sight.

Hello Tolga,
well captured shot of a great perspective. The lighting is perfect and the colors are nice and well saturated. The fisherman anchors and balances the picture perfectly and if I have to make a choice, I prefer this one, simply because of the more water included and the closer skyline. Well done, my friend!
Tfs and have a great Sunday!
