Photographer's Note

Taken from the Northern Bank of the Ottawa River on my recent visit to the Canadian capital. I walked round from Parliament Hill, upstream along the river and across to the Civilisation Museum before crossing back into downtown Ottawa for a well deserved Beaver Tail!

Like my previous submission, this shows the partially frozen river but further downstream it was almost completely frozen over - I'll try and submit one of these later in the week.

The weather during the afternoon was really variable, it was bitterly cold and very windy which meant the cloud cover kept completely changing within a matter of minutes (compare this sky to my last submission, which were taken within about 10/15 mins of each other). This was probably the clearest it was all afternoon and the sun was highlighting some of the buildings nicely.

As ever, your feedback is much appreciated!

Cheers
Simon
