Photographer's Note

A great place to view whales in the maritime provinces is in Nova Scotia's Cape Briton Island. We launched on a whale watching tour from Pleasant Bay on the Cabot Trail one fine late afternoon. It was around 7:30 by the time we reached this pod of Pilot Whales as the sun was just starting to set. The golden reflections of the sun can be seen on the wet slick backs of the whales and the sky was aglow in golden tones.
