Photographer's Note

As we were walking along the waterfront, I saw this apartment building with magenta plexiglass balconies and thought they were interesting.

My internet search disclosed that this building was VIC Suites, designed by Halifax-based Breakhouse with Michael Napier Architecture and Dexel Developments Ltd. The 10-storey building was built on the bones of a run-down but distinctive 19th-century apartment building at the corner of Hollis and Morris streets. The Vic offers a choice from 82 designer suites, including one, two and three bedrooms and three Penthouses. The innovative and practical layouts marry artistic design with a functional and luxurious sense of home comfort, not to mention breathtaking views of Halifax Harbor.
