Photographer's Note
In Las Vegas, there is a hotel complex known as "New York, New York," where the buildings are scaled down versions of the skyline of New York. In Dubai, seen in this 2013 photo everything is scaled up. The city is an architect's dream where one sees a building Twisting in the Wind, another building with rotating floors, and, of course, the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, soaring majestically to a height of 830 m.
Once before in 1997 we had visited Dubai, and seen the sand stretching out endlessly, with a handful of tall buildings rising on "the strip." Then 16 years later, in 2013, when we made a second visit to the oil-soaked Sheikdom, we could hardly believe our eyes. There were skyscrapers clustered like weeds. Rising prominently on land reclaimed from the sea was the most elegant (and expensive) hotel in the world the 7-star Burj al Arab, resembling the sail of traditional dhow.

Hello Bόlent,
You have taken a good photo where the tall towers are not leaning too much and you managed to include the small boats at the bottom. Colours and exposure are faultless. I wonder how they clean these faηades after a sandstorm, which I suppose occurs now and then. And what effect may strong winds have between these skyscrapers? Well, from here they look great and clean and I can detect no turbulence.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bulent,
I was last in Dubai some thirty years ago, so goodness knows how much it has changed since then. I am hoping to go back in October during a stopover on a trip to Japan. Excellent capture of this ensemble of skyscrapers; each one slightly different in style. Optimal exposure with very good colours and clarity.

Rapidly growing towers, Bulent, and a superior picture with fine light and clarity upon.
Amazing how those desert sand grew to skyscrapers within a relatively short time.
An immaculate photojob done.
Have a nice Sunday,
Ike

Hello Bulent ,
Not the kind of place where i'd like to live , but an excellent capture of these impressive high buildings so close ones to the others.

Hello Bόlent,
The little marina on the foreground gets almost lost under the amazingly new and high architecture.
All tops of the buildings are different and we can see that construction is still going on at the upper right.
Did you enjoy your stay in Dubai and have you been able to visit the Burj Khalifa?
Best regards, Paul

Hello, Bulent,
Yep, these skyscrapers remind me Manhattan too. But the buildings of New York were built in different times. These constructions are fresh brothers. Just perfect sharpness! We can count every window in this picture.
I am going to NYC in April again.
Best!

Hello Bulent,
What an amazing sight and built so quickly!
I can't help giving these buildings character!
They look like turbaned, masked men, standing straight and stern, shoulder-to-shoulder in this imposing, stance of power!
Your photograph is crisp and colourful, its composition giving rise to my impression!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Bulent
Wow :) I would have a lot of fun here with my camera. I used to play sim city quite a lot when I was younger, and this photo looks like the ultimate scene from the game. The buildings are impressive and huge and vaguely cartoon like. Great photo
Cheers

Bonsoir, cher ami Bulnet,
Trθs bon choix.

Hello Bulent,
This section of Dubai looks even more densely-packed than Manhattan. It's nice that each skyscraper is slightly different, but they all still having striking similarities, as well, and are all very modern. I like the small boats in the foreground, and the trees on the right, too.

Hi Bulent
ah...one of your best posts! this is an easy 10 out of 10 in my books :) I'd love to have it in my own personal gallery!
I like how you describe the buildings growing up out of the sand like weeds - smart analogy.
love the hundreds of little blocks/windows, it creates such a strange yet cool visual, its very graphic that way.
the tight framing works so well too. what can I say? its fantastic. cheers

Dear Bulent,
The frontages of the buildings are almost an old washboard.
The foreground with the boats gives an additional view on the marina.
Well found and nice presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Bulent,
Good to stare in awe of all the high rise buildings and take the shots. Lovely shot Bulent.
But my idea of holiday is less of concrete, less of glass, less of steel and aluminium.
Dubai is more for business than holiday. Or not.
Anyway, enjoy your stay.
cheers,
sam

Hello Bulent, What a magnificent view of these high buildings, even if I prefer rather older ones. Such a fun when you croll the screen up and there are more and more windows. Superb picture.

there are so many samples of buildings there we frequently can't pay attention in everything, in some aspects looks like a mix of arrogance, new rich, creative design and spoiled taste. anyway it is ever surprising. very special this slice of the skyscrapers with interesting details.

Hello Bulent,
a very imposing, compact skyline, I like very much how you filled the entire vertical frame and gave us the opportunity to study the architecture and the arrangement of similar patterns. The spaces enclosed in these impressive shells must be immense, I often wonder what they look like and what they are being used for. Your light and colour management is brilliant. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hi Bulent
Good sharpness and aptly titled. Amazing repetition of patterns shapes & lines. Good color and the fg harbour adds a break to the monotony of most of the architecture. Tfs!

Merhaba Bulent. Compact composition accentuates the fascinating architecture and the race to be the tallest. For the life of me I cannot imagine who lives in these buildings and the many apartment buildings of lesser hight. Obviously not the workers from Bangladesh, India and the Philippines. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Bulent,
The land must be very expensive because they build skyscrapers close to each others. I like the architecture of the buildings; each have something special.
Nice photo with good quality.
Have a nice 4 July,
Zbigniew
