This photograph was taken in Kas- Antalya...
Because I scanned at home, the quality has dropped... I hope you like it...

------------------------------------------------------
The small picturesque town of Kas (app. 8,000 inhabitants) with its romantic harbour beingsurrounded by green hills and the steep rocky walls of the Taurus mountains is located on the historically important Lycian coast that stretches out from Fethiye to Antalya and belongs to the most beautiful region of the southern coast of Turkey. Even though there is a very good tourist infrastructure estabished, Kas hasn’t lost its unique flair and continues to enchant its visitors with its typically Mediterranean atmosphere and lovely landscape...
The Kas of today has it’s roots in the Hellenistic period and was originally named Antiphellos. Under Roman rule it was the leading city of this region. The Lycians belonged to the most ancient nations of Anatolia and many signs are left in Kas telling us stories about their magnificent past. The most important sights are a well preserved sarcophagus of approximately 3 m height in the town centre, relics of a former city wall, skilfully decorated rock graves and a very well preserved amphitheatre that allows for a beautiful view of the shimmering sea, the peninsula of Kas and the greek island of Kastellorizo (Meis)...
“Holiday in Kas” stands for a magnificent combination of unspoiled nature, history and fun. Even though the former fishermen’s village is living almost exclusively from the tourism industry, Kas has managed to escape from mass tourism and has preserved its fresh original atmosphere. Here, it is still possible to stroll along sleepy roads or take a rest in one of the comfortable cafes under shady palm trees and enjoy turkish hospitality. There are a large number of small bars and restaurants offering local as well as international cuisine, attractive prices and tempting the visitor’s palate with a large tasty choice of culinary specialties. In the evening, there are a many music bars and discotheques that guarantee a varied and colorful nightlife.
It is a very special experience to visit the bazaar - a kind of weekly market taking place every Friday in Kas. Here, you will find everything your heart may desire: Fruit, vegetables, spices, clothes, leather articles or souvenirs. You will easily dive into the colorful hustle and bustle and may get seduced by the large variety of offers and exotic scents...

Merhaba Salim
A superb b&w image with perfect sharpness & a good tonal range. I also like the upward pov & graphism of the white building against the darker sky. Tfs!

Mesut Bey bizi siyah-beyaza o kadar alıştırdı ki bu aralar, biz de ilk önce onun sandık.
çekim açısı, estetiği ve ve siyah-beyaz oluşunu gerçekten çok beğendik.
tebrikler

Hi Salim,
I like the colored version ... but I like the black/white one even more because it provides more of the "old" feeling. This composition has no "modern" element in it ... so the photo could also be hundred years old.
Furthermore, I think it fits perfectly as a hommage to Mesut Ilgim!
I haven´t been to Kas yet but I think it must be worth visiting ... perhaps this summer!

Hello Salim,
Good point of view, a dynamic composition!
Impressive for a 26 years old photograph, and I feel you maintain the quality well here...
Good contrasty textures, good tones in the B&W!
Greetings,

Selam sevgili Salim,
MESUT ILGIM

Hello Salim,
Your view of this lovely old house from bottom is wonderful. Splendid sky is easily recognizable even from its black and white format and its geometry perfectly captured. Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,

The pov and the B&W makes it a little scarry, but the impact is strong... I appreciate the clouds in the sky too.
