According to Wikipedia, Topkapı Palace gradually lost its importance after the 17th century. The sultans started to spend more time in their new palaces along the Bosphorus. Topkapı's demise was made official in 1856 whe Sultan Abdulmejid I decided to move the court to the newly built Dolmabahηe Palace.

The sultans who would break their fasts during Ramadan at this location would have enjoyed a much different view from this one. The closest bridge is the 5th iteration of Galata Bridge, the first iteration of which did not materialize until 1845. The next bridge with the cables is Golden Horn Metro Bridge, which was completed in 2014. The third bridge, which can be barely seen underneath the Metro Bridge, is the 4th iteration of Unkapanı Bridge whose first iteration was completed in 1836. Certainly, none of these bridges existed when the demise of Topkapı Palace started in the 18th century.
