Photographer's Note
Istanbul's Blue Mosque was built partly as an effort to show Christians that Ottoman culture could produce something to rival the Hagia Sophia. The architect, Sedefkâr Mehmet Aÿa, was looking to rival the visual experience of Istanbul's famous church. And it is in fact an architectural masterpiece. And it is built so that visitors to the city can see both the mosque and the Hagia Sophia, and can compare the two...
This shot is taken in interior courtyard of this amazing place

Hi Isabela,
Great composition. The promonence of the object nor reduced in the black and white theme. In fact it take us to the Bysantine age. Excellent picture. Well done

hi Isabela
wonderful BW work.
POV adds great depth.
The patterns on the floor and those on the structure complement each other superbly

Hi Isabela,
A myriad of grey tones, with good deep black and controlled white spots, right where they belong. I really like this full frontal shot, slightly off-centred, where we can appreciate beautiful details of this impressive church.
The men in the forefront fill perfectly the gap, without masking the structure. The vertical framing is tight and up-close, featuring the building and the worshippers.
Cheers!

Hello Isabela,
Wonderful composition B&W. Very nice contrast. The human element is very important as a scale and is very well positioned in the frame.
Very well done.

Hi Isabela,
The building in your photo IS NOT Agia Sofia !!!
It is the mosque opposite to Agia Sofia (I think it is called The Blue Camii).
Please correct me if I am wrong (maybe our Turkish TE-members will know better and contribute).
Please click here for Agia Sofia and here for Blue Camii.
Nevertheless, your picture is excellent, congratulations.
Best regards and friendly,
Michael

nice shot of Sultan Ahmed Mosque, so massive, people walking in ots direction are a good bonus, the graphical element is well emphasized by the B&W conversion which is very well managed

Hi Isabela
Great point of view to "picture" this wonderful building (which is not hagia Sofia by the way.... but the Blue Mosque) The choice of B&W was perfect to give it an effect of old age. Good work! chau chau,

Hi Isabela,
impressive place really! a great range of greys in your picture as well as a POV that gives this magnificent structure credit. The inclusion of those men bring a welcomed human presence and an added sense of scale. Breath-taking!

Hello Isabela,
I have never seen this great mosque rendered so unusually. This goes beyond the realm of simply being a photograph, it is a fantastic work of art. Your rendition is surreal to say the least and I am marveled by the strange effect that you created with your B&W conversion. Amazing and highly immaginative work!

Hello Isabela,
Although I have not been able to see you during your short visit I am glad to see at least a a few pictures you took. In this case I like very much the desaturation but I believe that you also worked some kind of manipulation whşch gives a nice look overall.
Hope tos eee you on your next visit - Cheers - Izzet

Hi Isabela,
Very excellent B&W. The tones are sharp and distinct. I would prefer not having the two men in the foreground. Interesting how many people think this is Hagia Sophia. Thanks.
