Beylerbeyi Palace
Istanbul Trip, Day 8, Scene 5
Walking a few minutes north of the "statue" of Renault Captur, the Bosphorus comes into view unobstructed. On the Asian shore is the district of Beylerbeyi with its landmark palace.
Beylerbeyi literally means "Lord of Lords" in Turkish. It is an Ottoman title used for the highest rank in the hierarchy of provincial administrators, in western terms a Governor-General, with authority over the governors of several provinces, second only to the Grand Vizier. The rank was used initially for very large parts of the empire – all of Anatolia and Rumelia – but in later centuries the title was devalued by extending it to the governors of various much smaller Ottoman eyalets (~states). During the time of Murat III, the Rumeli Beylerbeyi Mehmet Pasha had his residence in this district and it was later renamed in his honor.
Beylerbeyi Palace was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz (1830–1876) and built between 1861 and 1865 as a summer residence and a place to entertain visiting heads of state.

Hi Murat,
Excellent view over Bosporus to Istanbul buildings. I like the arrangement with the bridge on the right and the palace in the middle of the frame.
Very well done.

Hi, Murat,
Somewhere in my phoalbum I've got a photo of Beylerbeyi too. Yes, this is very attractive building, thanks for this post and very interesting note.
I'd like to recommend to check the settings of your camera. These strange unreal colors remind me my personal mistake when I went to Spain in 2013. The settings of Canon were customized for sdios with the luminiscent lamps. As result all my photos have got some strange blue hues.
I can tell you the truth, but other friends just flattering you about 'magnificent colors' ;))
Best wishes,
Serghei

Hi Murat,
Nice view across the Bosphorus. With the beautiful old Palace centre stage, surrounded by the modern bridge to the right and the tower blocks looking down it.
Regards Arnie.

Good evening Murat,
Intriguing Bosphoros scenery, a bridge that leading the view to the other side, where the tall antenas above the dwellings on the slope.
Chosen well the POV, and done an adequate PP on the original RAW picture.
Best regards,
Ike

Hi Murat,
You're capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the Asian shore of Istanbul with elegant/solemn palace and many buildings on the hill. It's also impressive the calm the Bosphorus and the bridge at right side.
Kind regards,
mikio
