Amasya - a beautiful city in Asia Minor with rich ancient and medieval history. The tombs of the Pontic kings (ca. 4-1c. BC) overlook the city where, by the Yeşilırmak river, the imposing Seljuk and Mongol buildings stand side by side with the magnificent mosques of the Ottoman sultans' sons and the beautiful Ottoman residential architecture.
