Photographer's Note
Overlooking the Roman ruins of Palmyra is a 17th century castle. It also overlooks a flock of goats with their goatherd, his donkey and two daughters (who you can't see). They were all returning to the town for the night.

very good, stephen! this perspective is what i call expansive... it builds from the ground then reaches to the sky. you did it well in this shot! colors are vivid and sharpness just right as well. thank you for sharing :)

Superb view of that old castle and having the flock in the foreground helps to give the castle a bit of perspective. I like the tomb on the hillside too and am curious about what appears to be two tumbled columns -- did you take a closer look at them?

Hello Steve,
A fantastic alternative view of Palmyra, one that is not seen very often. Some quality has been lost on the scan unfortunately, however I'm sure the original looks terrific. Thanks for sharing,
Jules
