Photographer's Note
My first digital stitch, assemled from 3 portrait format 22mm frames. View of Khor Najd from the dirt road leading to the khor(inlet). There are many steep calm inlets like this in Musandam peninsula, the area is nicknamed "Norway of Arabia" by locals. This "fjord" is the only one accessible by road. Of course these are not real fjords, which are carved by glaciers. Glaciers stand a snowball's chance in hell in this climate. Beyond the bay is the Strait of Hormuz, separating the Persian gulf from the Indian Ocean, and beyond it, Iran.

Hej Tan,
I like a lot the deep blue of the water, that is surrounded by the wonderfully shaped rocks. The composition is very good too. A great view, thanks for sharing!

Hi Tan - colours & composition are great & I'd imagine the colours are extremely faithful to reality (deep blues in sea & sky, brown & grey land). The stiching appears to have worked very well with no visible lines in the image.

Hello Tan
Very nice title and interesting note.
The fjords of Norway are not neccesarily made by glaciers, but I get your point.
The photo is very interesting, I would never have expected to see this view in a hot place like Oman!
Composition looks good, there is a good depth perception and the fjord has nice centering.
Colour are sharp and the lighting looks perfect.
Thank you for sharing arabic fjord experiences. :)

Hi Tan,
Excellent job for this very first stitch. The quality is perfect and shows us the view of this awesome landscape! I really love the contraste between the deep blue water and the barren surroundings. The dirt road leads our eye down to the beach where one can make out the details of tiny cars.
Have a nice day.

Hi, Tan.
I really enjoy this view, the curving road is fantastic and stitching is perfect for this type of shot.
Nice decition to use stiching, because you avoided distortions and also the photo is much sharper, I'm trying to imagine the original, before resising to 800.
have a nice weekend, Aleks

Hello Tan
Great scene
this place looks kind of desolate but the large variety of earth tones is quite interesting. I may be considering a similar trip to yours. Were you able to go from Oman to Yemen by land? Is yemen dangerous? What about the kidnappings? How did you get around in Yemen? Do you think 3 weeks can give me a good peak?

You are the master of the panorama! This is a good one, with the fame divided up into 3 sections, mountains on the left and the right, and water in the middle. Great use of that interesting winding road to lead to the water. Good one!

Salaam Captain,
It's not that difficult to understand why it got its nickname, add the greens and you'll get Norway, even the road is Norwegian ! Nice Pov here (I should assign a function key to write this automatically on your photos...) and a very good stitching, good to have taken them in portrait format to minimize distortion. The contrast between sea and rocks is also impacting.
Have a nice week end,
Jean-yves

Hi Tan,
You have an incredible knack of creating some absolutely stunning images and this one is no exception. If you hadn't mentioned that you stitched it together using 3 images, I wouldn't have known. The quality of the job really is incredible!
Beyond the quality of the stitching, the image itself is wonderfully composed. It looks like an extreme wide angle photo of scenery unlike anything I've ever seen before. The colours are wonderful. The deep green of the inlet is quite unusual and the various, contrasting colours of the landscape, and the other contrasts within the image, are totally amazing. I also quite like the way the road twists and turns, leading the viewer's eye down towards the water.
Like so many of the pics in your album, I find this one really attractive. You seem to have a rare ability and I find your style very appealing.
Excellent work, my friend.
Hugs,
Tony

Hi Tan,
An impressive stitch job. This is a wonderful view of the terrain, with the eye following the snaking road ever downward. I like the contrast of the rich hued water with the stark hills. The sharpness level is just right and there is impressive DOF. A superb capture, Tan. Your shots of this region are outstanding and unique.

The shapes of the nature comes along very well with the manhand shapes like the road, and you have chosen the right point of view to enjoy the combination of both what was your duty as a photographer. This landscape looks to me attractive, at the same time, hard, difficult to survive but, anyway, beautiful.

Hi Tan,
nice stitch, I took the same picture (less angle because no stitch) but the weather was far more dusty. The colours on your picture are really clear, good job !

Hi Tan, it's great to see this shot from the Musandam. I'm sure this is the same place I have been! I took a dhow for a few days around the coastline and then the road back. It's a stark yet fabulously beautiful place. This picture shows it well. And congratulations on your first stitched shot - it's a great success!

Hey Tan,
Another one that I find very impressive! Desert, road and water colour make a strong combination...can you swim down there? The water must be sth like 40°C in this spot...:oP

Hi Tan, absolutely gorgeous photo. I stood in the same spot that you did to take this picture, but unfortunately my weather conditions (and technical photography skills) were not nearly as good as yours! Thanks for sharing this photo with us. I'll refer my friends to your photo, rather than my very hazy one, to show them one of the most beautiful sights I visited in Oman.

Hi Tan. I don't know how I missed this one when you were posting your Oman images, so I am glad this popped up in the randoms. Another shot that illustrates how far off the beaten track that you get. Superb POV and composition as usual. Great effort for your first stitch. The slight change in tone in the sky above the distant peak is the only clue this was stitched. Cheers . . . David
