Photographer's Note
Probably no one would guess where this photo was made. It is not the Arches National Park in Utah, USA, but Petra in Jordan. As you already know I had to come back from Petra not by Siq but through the mountains. And on the way I saw this beautiful arch. It was after big shower and hailstones, the fog is still hanging, and I was going VERy quickly, had no time even to stop, not saying about the tripod (that I hadn't of course :). But I like this photo. I do not know what are the flowers there, they look like wild tulips but I am not sure. So even bad weather had its good sites.

Allτ Malgorzata,

Hello Malgorzata
This is indeed a very unusual picture ,but well taken in difficult situation.
The flowers could well be some kind of tulips, but I rather think they could be `Guavas`
Best Wishes
Gladys.

Hi Malgo,
The weather conditions have given a great atmosphere to this image. The red rock is very impressive and I like the inclusion of the plants in the FG. An excellent picture.
Best Wishes, Ann

Bella nota ..Grande

Hi, Malgo, yes, it really looks like a part of the Park in Utah, or somewhere in West of US. I don't remember this arch in Petra, but I was impressed by Petra. It is really one of the World's Wonder.
I will write to you all our plans to e-mail.
Pozdrawiam!

Hi MAlgo
intriguing and fascinating shot this. I love the colours and textures especially in the fg. The low cloud adds atmosphere and imparts a special quality to this wonderfully compelling image.
Enjoy your Sunday - Brian.

Hello Malgorzata,
You chose a very well angle, on these way we see the arch perfect.
Nice angle with depth and perspective, and nice through look in depth.
Sharpness and colors are pleasant.
Excellent composition, nice done. TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,
John.

Witaj Malgorzata,
great picture of the landscape close to Petra. I really like this fog over the scene. The flowers in the foreground are no tulips, but sea squills or sea onions (Urginea maritima). A beautiful flower of the middle east. The bulbs are used as medicine since the times of the pharaos.
Besides, although at TE a lot of pictures from Petra are filed at the governorate of Aqaba it belongs to the governorate of Maan.
Kind regards,
Roland

Hi Malgo,
I never would have guessed this was taken in Jordan. It looks so similar to Moab, Utah in the US south west. Good sharpness and the fog adds mood, mystery & atmosphere. The wide angled crop works well here & the diffused light has helped with shadow detail. Tfs!
