Photographer's Note

Just before we started heading home after the nice day trip to Northern Israel and the Hula Valley (see previous postings), we went to eat at a place near Zefat (Northern Israel), by the name of "Bat Ya'ar" (which means "of the forest"). The place is sort of a ranch, which takes pride in the great children activities it has to offer (horseback riding, big playground and the peacock corner), the magnificent views of Northern Israel that can be seen from it, and the steaks they serve.
So just before we started carving the 12 Oz. Fillets (medium-rare), we met with this fellow - he was standing on a table outside, calling as loud as it could, and when we got closer it took off and stood on a low roof in this position. The roof belonged to the pen where a female peacock and some chicks were staying... I guess this was the proud father guarding his family.
Cropped and sharpened.
