Cranes used to stop in northern part of Israel on the way south or north. Large numbers decided they like it here and stay the whole year. Beautiful bird.

Wonderful capture of the cranes taking off or landing. I had no idea the scenery of Israel was like this, with mountains and such lush countryside! I really enjoy these discoveries on TrekEarth.

Wonderful nature pic, with that snowy background. I've been there last year and all those birds gathering for the night makes a beautiful scene.
