Photographer's Note
Shalamcheh
It is a complicated story. I visited a small border checkpoint between Iran and Iraq on the pointed southern border between these two countries. It is called Shalamcheh and in fact it is where the eight-year-old war of Iraq against Iran started in 1980. Saddam's forces massacred a group of Iranian defenders in this checkpoint upon their arrival and ruthlessly buried them all in a mass grave. When the war stopped the grave was discovered and the remains of the brave defenders were formally and decently reburied.
Nowadays there is a mosque built over this former mass grave where thousands of Iranian visit and pray for peace. There exists a museum of the belongings of these martyrs in the middle of the mosque too.
When I was there, a bird flew in and stood in front of me. I imagined that this bird is a reminding to me that those who fight for their land, country, faith and love shall live forever. May be this bird is one of the countless martyrs of such a sacred life. Who knows?

Although the image quality's poor Ali, i really think you got something here. Next time i would like to see an image more leveled with the floor, to try and capture the horizon for a more defined notion of freedom - i think it would be the icing on top of an already interesting cake!
Cheers,
Bruno
