Photographer's Note
I visited Ahvaz the capital of Khoozestan Province in the southwest of Iran last year. It was sad to participate in the burial and mourning rituals of a friend who was killed in a car crash. It was news to me to see musicians playing sad pieces during the entire ceremonies. They were sad too. But this was a part of their tradition. The musician was playing a modern flute. But there were other players including drum players who were accompanying him. The sound equipment were mounted on a car and were moving from cemetery to other places.
