Photographer's Note
This is an ancient rock dome in Kerman, Sothern Iran. It is made of solkid rocks and joined by a mixture of camel milk and dust. It used to be a holy fireplace during the Sassanids, 2000 years ago. Eversince it is standing without any usage and applications. Furtunately no pasr of this dome is damaged. The only thing added is a door to protect it from intruders.

What a very amazing colour of rock dome in Kerman, but I can see above the decorations, is this stone or paintings? Lovely orient architecture picture nice capture!

Hi,
Nice picture of Gonbad e Jabalieh. The light is too much on some part of the dome and I wish there was some clouds in the sky.

Hi Ali. Very unusual colours in this dome which your photograph captures well. Varahram says he would like to see some clouds in the sky, but I prefer this brilliant blue sky because it provides an intense contrast to the more subtle colours of the dome. Cheers . . . David

Ali,
To think what this sculpture could tell us if only it could talk, since it has been around for 2000 years. This is a very interesting building. The photo has good clarity and sharpness. Also, good composition with the foliage in the foreground.
I have been looking at your gallery of photos of Iran. It is a beautiful country full of many nice places.
