The Glenelg Brochs, NW Scotland
Dun Telve is one of Scotland's best preserved 'Brochs'.
2000 years ago, during the iron age, over 500 of these fortified dwellings existed over the NW of Scotland.
10m tall, and accessible only by a small entrance, they could hold off almost any attack...

Hi David,
Very nice photograph. I love this place, I've been there couple of times. How about the Glenelg Ferry? ;)
Best regards!

Hallo, David.
You have captured the detail of this broch so well, showing the particular kind of stone that was available in this place. The shadow of the tree falling on it gives your picture a feeling of ancient mystery, while the yellow flowers (buttercups?) entice us to wander up the glen.
I remember a little pottery beside the ferry - 30 years ago so I don't suppose it is still there.
