Photographer's Note
Tattoo convention: tattooists and their clients gather to tattoo and be tattoed under the public gaze. This man grits his teeth as his leg and ankle is worked on. At this moment the tattooist is working his ankle which must be more painful than the fleshier parts of the body.
The convention also included an afternoon competition and I heard a tannoy announcement outlining (forgive the pun) the various categories. These included an over A4 size tattoo...and you imagine how long that would take!? I didn't stay to watch as tattooing isn't my thing. But I found the event and people mildy interesting, including meeting the most tattooed lady called Isobel. Isobel is in her seventies and tatooed from head to toe (including her scalp)and despite the tattooes you can still see that she is still a good looking woman.I'll put a picture I took in workshop. Meet her

Hello, Bev.
You really are a star at photographing people! This is great as is your previous posting of the tatoo artist and his subject. Great photography and right in at the action! This man does not look comfortable at all!
Having read your note, and particularly the bit about Isobel, I couldn't help but be reminded of Groucho Marx and his famous song "Lydia the Tatooed Lady"! I love the Marx Brothers!
An excellent shot, Bev!
Best Wishes,
John.

Another splendid shot, Bev!
The warm lighting is wonderful, incredible detail, great BG blurring and the expression is priceless. Those people must be nuts. I particularly like the nice close crop job here. This is marvelous work! Wow, what a shot. Thanks and take good care,
Shelly
(I have seen pictures of Isobel Varley and not only is she tattooed all over, she has some EXTREME piercings. Brrrrr.)

Hello Bev,
Another fine image from the tattoo convention. What a bonus to have willing subjects undergoing exquisite pain while you photograph them!
What next - The dentists chair?
Your high ISO setting has paid off well again, and your subject has closed his eyes , gritted his teeth and clenched his arms together, allowing you to frame him neatly against an out of focus BG.
Excellent!
Regards,
Peter.

Perfect framing with his arm as border leaving a suggestive OOF background, exchanging is the key, nothing more Bev, still chosing the better ones, ain't blindly ... resuming step by step till a final point of redraw.
greetings
Henk
