Photographer's Note
The victorian smithy at Wimpole, no electricity what so ever, just as it was. Its had the roof taken off and repaired but thats about it. Forge is at the back where the chimney breast is and the bellows are in a back room and powered by muscle via a rope.
Stirred up the dust to get some sort of motion in the shot with the sunlight streaming in from a small window. It is lovely working in here late in the afternoon with the forge fire and a tilley lamp

I like your use of the light streaming in through the window - very atmospheric.
There's a lot of interesting detail and texture for the eye to explore, although I think going in closer on the blacksmith and anvil might have worked well too. On the other hand, I like the textures of the stone floor in the foreground, which you'd have lost if you'd moved forward.

Hi Simon,
Good indoor photo with the light and dust creating an interesting mood. Shooting more from the left and leaving some more room around the blacksmith may have been worth considering. Fine work, esp. the technical aspects. Regards,

Very good work Simon! The light management is really very well done. I can see the long exposure looking at the lost man's figure. The details are fine, too.
