Put august then realised the Horsechestnut tree was in bloom. Nearly made a bloomer there.
Introduced into England in and around the late 16th century they have grown into giants and are beautiful in the spring with their large white flower blooms. The timber is utterly useless although I am informed that it has been used for fruit boxs as it does not taint the fruit. The wood for logs burns so quickly that its almost a flash in the pan. Still it is a most excellant parkland tree
