Photographer's Note
Last of the summer sun and the final harvest before the rain.
Taken on the Wimpole estate with a very large Claas combine cutting something in the region of 36 foot wide swathes of wheat. They can cut and harvest enoumous areas of wheat in a day but must stop if the humidity gets to high.
This year prices for wheat have shot (from about £70/ton to £140/ ton) up due to the world wide demand which makes it very hard for those on low incomes but even harder for those in countries without a social security net. Lets hope there is a bumper harvest next year.
