Hi Brendan!
Great shot! As you wrote gret mix of emotions! You did well in framing this guy who probably won with other people and the whole thing without cutting a face!
Well done!

The tones are perhaps (I say perhaps because of the light conditions I am viewing this in) a little flat here Brendan but nothing that can't be fixed - all the rest is there - the one exuberant fan sticking out from the crowd tells such a story - perhaps he backed the outsider or maybe he is just naturally excitable!
A fine catch which I think maybe just needs a little more lightroom work.....minor tweaking. The contrast seesm so much stronger in the middle - is this something you deliberately achieved?

Oh wow... The expressions of suspense. The fear of losing thousands, or the thrill of gaining millions. We all see who the winner is here.
B&W is great. Did you just get up from your seat, turn around and shoot?? So nice.
Good one!

As I said on flickr Brendan, this is one heck of a series. My favorite is the one with the no flash photography allowed sign:) Here I would only say it needs a bit more contrast. The way you fished that guy out of the crowd is great.
Are you planning to buy the 5D? Im in a dilemma over what lns to buy for the 5D which I plan to get this year. 24-70 or the 17-40. My dilemma stems from the fact that I wont probably buy the lens and camera at the same time. I want the 24-70 but my fear is that Ill totally lose the wide angle if I put it on my 20D. The 17-40 would be great for my 5D and Id get a nice wide angle on the 5D which would be a cool challenge. My question is if the 34mm end is wide enough on the 30D for you.

Timing, timin is everything, and you've got hat down, mate. The makings of a serious SPorts pro shooter I kid you not. Here we have the scene in the Hitchcock movie "strangers on a train" at the tennis match.
Well seen, bravo!

Hi Brendan,
Interesting image, this is a simple and daily scene but with a great expressive force, each face am a different life and feelings, I like since you have centered the focus on the man of the center, good control of the light and an excellent idea to use in B&W. TFS
