Photographer's Note

A fantastically twisty and dramatic road takes you to the little harbour at Elgol. A scramble along the rocky beach reveals beautiful views of the Black Cuillin, often blue and hazy, (doubtless sometimes completely obscured by cloud and rain). I was particularly lucky.

Further around the beach you can reach Bonnie Prince Charlie's cave where he reputedly lay awaiting his transport to France after the failed Scottish rebellion.
