Photographer's Note
Liverpool is somewhat unusual in that it has two cathedrals, a legacy of the historical division between the different Christian sects. Both cathedrals are impressive buildings in very different styles. The one in the photo is the Roman Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, which was built during the 1960s. It's a fascinating building, a ring of small chapels built around a central nave with the altar in the middle. I'll be posting photos of the interior in the near future.
These three men just appeared at the top of the steps as I lined up this photo, not exactly what I was going for but they add something - is it menace? Desaturated, cropped square, levels adjusted, NeatImage on the sky, unsharp mask.

The addition of the men by this buildingis good, as it shows the vastness of the building. I think the horizontal looks a bit "squew wiff" though. Other than that, it's a nice architectual shot.

As a straight architectural shot it's a bit tilted and distorted but as an image it works extremley well conveying a sense of scale and power that is enhanced by the figures.
Technically not bad either!
Great Shot
