Photographer's Note
This is the Tate Modern art gallery in London taken in late autumn 2003. At the time I visited there was an installation by an Icelandic artist who had installed a giant artificial sun in the turbine room (its in an old power station). I posted another pic of this a while back.
I was standing on a platform overlooking the chamber and I wanted to emphasise how small the figures looked in comparison to their surroundings - so I used a 24mm wideangle lens. Because it was so dark I had to use very fast ISO 3200 film - hence the grainy texture which I actually quite like here.

Nice shot! Your choice of B&W worked well since this shot is all about light and shadow... It almost looks like the sun is slowly killing the people below it. Good work :-D

This is amazing it looks as if ti is a very cruel sun but its worshippers can't bear to move away from it. Awesome. The black and white is wonderful and I like the grain too.

Nice shot well suited to B&W and I agree with your feelings about the grain.
Have you any shots from the lower floor as the people in isolation made a great subject.

It's a terrific image, Matt. It reminds me of Fritz Lang's Metropolis or similar visions of (minuscule) man in the modern (technological) world. And all the steel and concrete really does it. Very arty but very deep. Love it.
