Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
My last photograph showed the ancient hunting lodge of Barton Tower and explained how the associated Priest's House and the chapel had been renovated and refurbished to provide a beautiful, atmospheric wedding venue.
My photograph, today, shows an exterior view of the Priest's House, with the chapel behind.
People asked if the photographs were taken in the late afternoon, because of the subtle lighting. The photographs were taken between 2.30 and 3.30 GMT. For more information about the building, please see my previous post.
Please look at my workshops, too, which give a glimpse of the interior and a snapshot of the bride.
Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
The WS are nice complements to this more majestic esterior view of the building. The lawn, bushes and hedge provide a good balance to the dominance of grey walls and grey ground. The pale blue sky and the trees with no leaves describe the time of the year and of the day. What a relief to know that as of the day before yesterday we are once again heading towards longer days.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,the atmosphere is truly magical, the room you show in the WS takes me back in time, stone walls and a lit fireplace .... truly unique and fantastic for a wedding complete with Christmas lights, as seen in the other WS with the future bride. Obviously, the view of the parish priest's house is also interesting, refurbished to perfection respecting the original style. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

bev
nice view of the architecture in stone, the dinner hall looks like cozy and interesting, but there is not so much space for a crowd as is usual in such parties here. the bouquet looks made with more dry elements than flowers.
beautiful images.
Merry Christmas to you !
take care

Hello Beverley,
A great shot of the house and chapel, seen in a pleasant, soft winter light. Good inclusion of a bit of the garden in the right hand side as well.

Hello Beverley,
The dining room in the WS looks very cozy with the fireplace, the wooden floor, the curtains and the Christmas decorations.
Your main picture shows a very clear and cloudless winter day. I suppose it must have been fairly cold.
So your photos are not taken late in the afternoon but I have also noticed with us that shooting in the afternoon at this time of year no longer produces the brightest moments of the day. Nevertheless, your photo is certainly still sufficiently clear.
I heard in the news today that the day just got longer by a few seconds. It can still get quite cold for a long time, but I think more hours of daylight is already an advantage.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev,
This is a nice architecture indeed. The roght side seems to be the main facade and it is indeed the most elaborate. The light was low but the resulting colors very nice.
Merry Christmas!

Hello Bev,
The second ws-photo did remind me of our last visit to England when we visited a church along the route where preparations were made for a wedding.
That was a few days before our wonderful meeting in Manchester.
Always nice to see pictures that evoke such pleasant memories.
Well done
Merry Christmas, groet Rob

Hi Bev,
This building is obviously very old as your previous note proves. With few windows it looks rather gloomy on December sunshine. But of course it could still be a good place for joyful weddings!

Hi Bev.
Magnificent composition with the priest's house and the chapel, an architectural complex with a lot of charm and the touch of distinguished antiquity, all built with powerful stone.
The warm atmosphere of the banquet table is ideal and I love the originality and beauty of the bride's bouquet.
A magnificent range of colors, which gives an attractive chromatism.
Very good management of the brightness, as well as the sharpness of the image.
Good work, which we enjoy. I love it.
Have a great day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Beverley
A wonderful capture with brilliant detail of the classic English building and the array of colours is simply glorious which further enhanced by subtle low warm light. Great write up too.
Best regards

Hello Bev
Looks to be a solid and sturdy building that would be reasonably warm and insulated in winter. Both the moss covered stone wall at right and the path at left add lead in lines and perspective. Tfs!
