Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
My choice for the main post, this morning, proved to be a difficult one. I had decided upon the theme of stairways, which were all taken inside the Lowry Gallery in Salford.
There have been many photographs of the exterior of The Lowry but far fewer of the interior.
The Lowry is a very modern building and this is reflected in the interior designs. I chose this example because it revealed a whole series of of geometric shapes and patterns, as well as being a stairway.
I cropped the photograph slightly, to get a true diagonal from the girder.
In the workshops, which I hope you will open, the staircases are quite different.
Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
There are many interesting details to enjoy in this photo with several diagonal accents. There is a nice play of light and shadows and pink tones that seem to be reflections of a nearby wall. WS #1 might have attracted more visitors with its bright colours, but in the long run this one probably offers a more interesting composition.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
It is looking like abstract art. The point of view is showing the details of this section of the staircase. There is a good contrast between the colours of the picture. Have a nice day.

Good evening Beverley,
Even a simple stairs-case can make an attractive subject for photography.
The variable light and tones are the main asset for this picture. Good choice for main post.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Beverley,
A very nice view of the interior of the building and the stairway, whose many silvery shades are very attractive, I like the mix of darker and lighter parts. Also the many diagonal lines are wonderful.

Hello Beverley,
I like the composition of your main picture with a lot of straight but also angular lines.
Beautiful with the geometric shapes while still clearly visible stairs.
A purple light is reflected so that it's not a photo in b&w after all.
But it was a big surprise when I looked in the WS. I expected to find a similar photo but I am pleasantly surprised by the explosion of colours. Is this the same building?
I, who loves colours very much, have to recover from WS 1 for a while :)
I know not everyone likes it but for a gallery that should be possible.
You mention the exterior of The Lowry. So I had a look on internet and yes, WOW!
Best regards, Paul

bev
a nice slice of these stairs and the geometrical shapes around, an excellent graphic mood. I like when I took some images this way and the other people aren't able to identify the object.
take care

Hello Bev, Intersting view of the stairs from below. I like the bold colours in the Workshops. Escalators are like excalators anywhere.

Hello Bev,
Photographing exclusive stairs is often a challenging job.
It's so hard to find the right POV that does justice to all the squiring of the stairs. But once you have found the right point of view, the result is an artistically engaging photo as can be seen here.
The other two pictures bring me good memories again. Thanks.
Well done
Have a nice day, groet Rob
