Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

You may think this is a strange title but I used it because this cute robin was cheekily perched on some old weighing scales, which we have in the garden.

When I saw it, I commented to my husband Len, it must be testing if it has lost weight since it laid its eggs!

The photograph was taken through our conservatory window.

Robins are frequent visitors to our garden. Though seen frequently, they rarely sit still for an eager bird photographer!!!

I have previously posted photographs of young robins which are speckled, quite different in plumage to their parents. Robins have bright red breasts and if they see other robins in the garden, then they will fiercely persuade them to leave. For that reason, young robins are without the red breast so that they do not trigger territorial behaviour in the parents.

I will show a different view of the robin, still on the weighing scales, as a workshop.

Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
