It was so hot here as well last week, I would have loved to go to a place like this to cool down a bit. Great shot of the boys having fun on the rocks and in the water, fast streaming so probably delightfully cool. Really nice that you just caught them when they noticed you.

Hello Bev,
I like the WS too but I really love this cropped main photo. We are brought so close to the boys that we can really see their startled faces as they discover they're being photographed. They look like they were caught doing something very nasty, though they were just having fun. Thanks to the wonderful spontaneity I will have to save this among my favourites.

Hello Bev,

Three wonderful photographs of these young lads having some fun in the river and cooling off at the end of a hot sunny day! But although your two workshop photos are excellent (and one of those, of course, is just a wider view of your main one), it is your main image which is the most appealing - just the look on those boys' faces as they realise they're being watched and have been not only caught red handed but have also been captured on camera by a local lady paparazza!

P.S. I presume from your location that this is the River Colne. I'm not sure how big it is or what volume of water it carries but I worry a lot about many people not treating rivers with quite the respect they deserve. Just last week a very fit 18 year old lad drowned at the Falls of Clyde at New Lanark, just a short walk from here. Also, one of my walking pals died earlier this year after falling down a steep ravine into a small tributary of the Clyde while out for a walk by himself: his body was only found two months later several miles downstream. Rivers are lovely but they are also dangerous.

beautiful panorama and flagrant of the kids playing in the waters. we can see the stones were positioned like a dam in stairs, a nice place for fun.

I like the picture with the boys completely unaware of someone else's presence the most.
But all three clearly show the fun one can have in the water.
Beautiful compositions with the rocks that divide the water into different levels.

A beautiful coloured image full of interest and cheery moments of fun! A charming shot showing just what kids should be doing and your have great expressions as well as valuable eye contact there with plenty of great detail and some vibrant colours to feast the eye.

I think we need more kids off the PC screen and into the dirt where they get anti-bodies that prevent allergies among countless other benefits. What a cheery moments of fun and a wonderful capture of youthful exuberance and discovery....

I like the three tiers of the brook. Good colour, sharpness and nice reflections in the still parts of the water. The 2 boys turning around look surprised. I wonder what mischief they were up to? Tfs!
