Photographer's Note
Taking travel photos becomes quite a challenge when you have to stay at home. Today, while participating in a teleconference I noticed this far away view in a distance. It was taken from my house window using the back end of 70-300 mm lens zoom and trimmed in addition. I thought this is how most British people imagine Middlesbrough or Teesside in general. People living in M’bro are sometimes called Smoggies, can you guess why?

Hello Mariusz,
A great photo of some houses in the foreground and the heavy industry in the distance with numerous chimney stacks against the low-hanging cloud. I like the many shades of blue in this photo.

Hello Mariusz,
A different tones of blue, on this evening picture.
The mist had given special texture over the cityscape. Bright spots shown wonderfully in contrast.
Stay well, best regards,
Ike

Hi Mariusz, the photo perfectly explains your words, in fact there are many steaming fireplaces and with this light they can be seen very well. Nice catch, excellent quality, pity only for the branch out of focus on the left. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Mariusz, you captured a milky and foggy atmosphere from the window. I like the blue tint. The city is illuminated by night, some antennas and plant chimneys stand out from the roofs. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo to remember the covid period, regards.

Hello Mariusz,
Absolutely awful when someone became a 'smoggy'.
But there is also good news recently. Air quality is improving all over the world.
So hopefully also in Middlesbrough.
The picture looks very beautiful, much more beautiful than the reality, I'm afraid.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Mariusz
Being confined is not really pleasant but we have to obey in order to be safe. It's a new challenge for the photographers; But there is no more pollution and you can see the hills at the back. Lots of wind turbines, means you have winds. The blue world seems to be coming from a dream!
Best regards

Hello Mariusz.
A panoramic view of this industrial city at the blue hour, but covered by a fairly dense mist, these large chimneys in the foreground demonstrate this.
The light management are magnificent also sharpness of the image.
Very well done. I like it
Have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Mariusz,
Yes, being in complete lockdown puts a damper on travel photography. I like this early evening photo from your window. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hello Mariusz,
What an interesting note! I had not known that people from Middlesbrough were known as "Smoggies". How interesting. But Middlesbrough itself isn't known as "Smog"? Because Edinburgh is sometimes referred to as "Auld Reekie" (which, I guess also means "smoggy" or "smokey") but I don't think Edinburgh people are called "Reekies". All very odd!
Anyway, this is actually a very nice photograph which you have taken from your own home, showing the skyline view and also some evidence of smog or smoke in the sky - but the little clusters of light shining through the blue haze are rather attractive.
A very well captured shot with perfect exposure and, as always, exquisite details and sharpness.
Fabulous!
You take care in these troubled times.
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. What is the "back end" of a 70 - 300mm zoom? Is it 70 or 300mm?
