Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
For me, today I have posted a main photograph that is unusual.
Much clearer here in large format.
When we were exploring the Lowry Gallery and taking a few photographs, we were politely asked not to photograph the Lowry paintings but other exhibits were fine to photograph.
I homed in on this delightful display. It was a series of pencil drawings, showing children's interpretation of Lowry's art. There were portraits and street scenes containing mill chimneys. Not all Lowry's work is of matchstick people!
I enjoyed perusing this children's art and will post a close-up as a workshop.
I wish you a lovely day, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
I can't deny that this is an unusual choice of main photo. I would have expected you to prefer the very colourful WS. On the other hand it is a stimulating challenge to sometimes go against the current and do something different. These drawings are charming, some of them showing obvious talent, and deserve to be seen. The close-up is quite amusing. But it's hard to take my eyes away from the brightness of the child-friendly room... ;-)
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Beverley, looking at the children's drawings, I can immediately recognise the representation of Lowry's portrait of the woman as you show in the w/s.
A lovely idea to invite the children to have a try at copying Lowry's art.
And what a colourful room you share with us in the w/s, very inviting.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

bev
curious they only permitted you to take images of these drawings portraying the paintings of the artist.should be interesting to compare the versions. haha. nice sample. I am a painter by myself and it is a pity most of my primitive drawings were lost. what made me different most of the other children (most part of them) is I never stopped to produce drawings.. this is a difference between an artist (even a bad one like me) and the other people.
take care

Hi Bev,maybe some great artist will be born among them and these drawings will be worth millions of pounds. But for the moment it remains a good idea to see how children interpret the works in this museum. 3 very significant photos of happy days, I say this because when I opened your main photo, the terrible drawings that I saw in Auschwitz came back to my mind, luckily things changed. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Bev
I was very disappointed in the main photo but the large version has much better detail and the light comes over more evenly. A good one.
cheers

Bonjour, chθre Bev,
Une image intιressante ΰ regarder et ΰ dιtailler. C'est curieux de voir que certains dessinateurs possθdent dιjΰ un don pour manier le crayon.
Belle idιe.

Hello Beverley,
An excellent impression of the art children made at the museum. A great way of getting young people more interested in art. You handled the lighting well and captured the small works of art from a good angle.

Goodmorning Bev, A fab documentary series about this expo of Lowry inspired children's drawings. The world of 'early' art is a fascinating one. The chosen PoV of your main post works really well here, thanx for sharing this!
Warm regards, Bert.

Hi bev
Allways a delight to walk in this place and detail the Lowry paintings and see what can do young children copying the master.
Have a look at the WS, a drawing of David when he was 6.
Cheers

Hello Beverley,
Gifted kids can sometimes show artistic paintings much better to be accepted as any other known name.
Evidence we find in the WS's posted.
It is always a puzzle for me why museums not allow photography of art displayed.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Bev,
I used to win a lot of 2nd and 3rd prizes in these school art competitions, but as I became older I became more impatient and saw photography as a quicker way to get landscapes and accurate portrayals of people. Most of these students appear more interested in portraits. Tfs!
