Photographer's Note
We landed in Manchester last sunday and watched at the TV the Queen diamond jubilee report. When going to the city center a few days after, I was disappointed not to see many english flags. Thankfully, the bus company got the great idea to decorate a double decker. Taken under a shower, just take the picture and put the camera again in the bag after. Cropped picture because I had no time to step under the rain. Bold colors in a gloomy day.
Note: this bus N° 86 goes from Manchester Piccadily(center) to Chorlton where my daughter lives, and is the mean I use to discover the city.

Sympa la composition, avec ce bus aux couleurs pιtantes assorties ΰ celles des parapluies. Je remarque que les trottoirs londoniens mouchetιs de chewing-gums ιcrasιs n'ont rien ΰ envier ΰ ceux de notre capitale !

Hi Claude
your image just about sums up how the weather tried its hardest to dampen the celebrations. It was strange how small villages in the UK had more sense of marking the occassion with bunting and flags, yet big cities seemed less enthusiastic. Great shot and love the blaze of effective colours and detail. A wonderful souvenir shot. Thanks for sharing with us Brits.

Claude I did see some highlights of this celebration on tv and recall some complaints about all the rain during the event. I am glad to see your photo activity in this weather has yielded some very interesting details from the back of this bus while the red umbrella compliments the balance of the scene. I like it.

It's rather quite interesting street shot despite the busy rainy day but still there is something for the eyes to focus on and pulling the eye about the frame and the bus in stunning British colors being the most prominent to create attention. The foreground umbrella creates a bit of interest and as a slice of life, it's good record shot. You have captured the moment in a finely composed shot of urban scene with excellent inter play of reality. Lovely tones in good clarity and contrast. Great vision well executed. Congrats
