Photographer's Note
Now im back from my little trip to London, time to share with you some of my picture took there, starting with this one of the London Eye.
I could bore you with lots of facts about the eye, which im sure you already know as there are many other pictures of this on this site so I will spare you the gory details. Except this is now Londons most visited and photographed attraction of the last 2 years.
I can tell you how ever that this takes nearly 30 minutes to revolve, so seeing it like this, given the illusion it is spinnig really fast is something the behold.
I took this on a 20 second exposure resting on Westminster Bridge wall just in front of the Houses of Parliament.
I hope you like this, I know it is very over exposed in areas, but I still like it and without being able to look at the pictures fully til I got home I couldnt tell how good they were really. I think the usually choppy Thames looks very nice in these conditions.
I hope you like, comments and critiques welcome, and if anyone can tell me how to tone down the brightness abit? maybe a workshop? thanks for looking.

Nice pink colours. Good compostion and beautiful reflection on the ground (but you could maybe crop a little bit of the bottum, but not too much). Did you also try other points of view? Maybe more in the front?
I will try to do a workshop if I can...

A fine shot from the Westminster Bridge - and with a great effect - I like the special reflection in the water of the Theme - thanks for the fine note to explain - too bad I never got that "turn" on my visit.

This overexposition created specials colors and I like the motion blur of the wheel. The only suggestion I had was already said by Steft... I will read your answer to him.

This looks great. As you said the idea of the wheel moving like a fairground wheel is very unusual and gives a new interest. I like the sepier tones (the workshop addresses the overexposure problem very nicely).

Hi Steven, a nice point of view and good capture of the wheel movement, for my personal taste I would prefer to have it a bit darker, maybe with f/8 and 15 seconds. But well, there as just as many tastes as persons...
Guess what I never saw the eye, my last visit to London dates back to the last millenium, if I insist on that, somebody will reserve a place for me in the British Museum :))

I like the conmposition here of this highly photographed object. I don't think your long exposure made any real harm to over exposure.
The position of the wheel is good, with good reflection in the 'tamed Thames'. Nice to see the detail on the left, and the colour and light is good too.
Compliments,
Steve

Very good scenery, Steven; although it is a little too bright, I like this perspective and also all those lights...
You are right, it looks like the wheel is spinnig really fast, but I also like that effect. So, you made a good job!

Welcome back form London, Steven. Very good idea here with the 20 sec exposure that makes the Eye look as if it actually were moving at rollercoaster speed :-) The Thames looks really smooth that way, too. Ideally there were a bit more space at the top, but for being taken without a "real" tripod this is a very commendable result. Good shot.
Ha, in the back I can see the pedestrian bridge from which my earlier shot was taken. Nice.

Nice effects on this one Steven.
The wheel looks like it's spinning so fast it's about to fly off and the Thames looks like a large skating ring!

Great night shot.Lightnes and reflection are perfect.Slow speed shutter is doing well on turning wheel and blur it.Well done.
