Photographer's Note
Essex Bridge is a grade I listed packhorse bridge, over the river Trent, near Great Haywood. It was built in 1550 by the earl of Essex for Queen Elizabeth I, so that when she visited the estate, she could go hunting in the woodland around the local village.
It is now the longest remaining packhorse bridge in England with 14 of its original 40 span arches left. One may wonder: Why 40 arches, when the river Trent is not that wide? However, it is surrounded by marshes, and probably was surrounded by more, 4 1/2 centuries ago.

Hello Marie Louise,
The image seem oversharpened however the subject is very nice. The design of this bridge is interesting and yeah very old! Your point of view is very good as the river create a slight diagonal against the bridge. Good work.

Deve essere molto bello questo ponte cinquecentesco! Bella questa prospettiva con il ponte che sembra entrare dentro il bosco,faccelo vedere, però, anche di lato! Sono curioso di vederlo!

Tu as profité de la bonne luminosité pour nous faire découvrir ce magnifique pont qui entraine le regard au loin dans la forêt. J'aime le rendu des couleurs naturelles...j'ai remarqué que ça penchait un peu vers la droite et je me suis permis de te faire un petit ws...cependant en pivotant l'image, j'ai dû couper un tout petit bout du pont! j'espère que tu ne m'en voudras pas ;)

Composizione molto bella che sfrutta bene le linee grafiche di questo bel ponte di pietra. C'è un grande senso della profondità e colori e luce belli e naturali.
Anche l'ottima nitidezza contribuisce a dare un senso di tridimensionalità e di essere sul posto.

Bonjour Marie Louise,
I like this perspective view, especially that there's a man walking far in the distance (very good for comparing the real size!) :) I have never seen such a bridge before... very curious, unusual shape!
I, too, think that the image looks a bit oversharpened... which made the trees on the other side of the river look funny - not soft but as if made of metal :)
But the sight is very impressive! very good photo.

tu encuadre es muy bueno para conseguir esta perspectiva tan profunda y dinámica del viejo puente, con un buen efecto gráfico gracias a su geometría.
Nuestra mirada se desplaza por el puente hasta llegar a los magníficos árboles al fondo de la imagen.
Bonita composición, muy agradable a la vista.

Salut Marie Louise, il doit avoir été une sensation extraordinaire d'être debout sur un pont de 500 ans! J'aime la symétrie. C'est bien que vous ne s'alignait pas le pont en place exactement comme ici, il montre plus de la forme pour le pont et donne Nice lignes diagonales. Voilà un pont qui a traversé les siècles sans dommage... Pièce architecturale intéressante de par sa forme. Le cadrage donne une belle perspective. J'aime bien la luminosité et les couleurs naturelles. Lieu de promenade qui doit être bien agréable. Joli coup d'oeil tout comme ta photo en WS et merci pour la note instructive.

Perspective invitante à l'exploration de ce pont à l'allure ancestrale, conçu pour l'aise des photographes à l'oeuvre lorsqu'il y a foule (!!!)
Je ne connaissais pas l'utilité de ces arches pour piétons lorsqu'il y avait circulation de chevaux à sacoches.
Note très instructive.

achieved excellent depth from this angle.
The top stone-railing must had been renovated - but kept the original look.
