Photographer's Note
The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Syke are a series of clear, cold pools and waterfalls formed as Allt Coir' a' Mhadaidh tumbles down from the foothills of the Black Cuillins into Glen Brittle. The water in the pools is bright turquoise due to the mineral deposits in the rocks.

Hi Stephen. Very beautiful image. The turquoise "vein" looks organic/alive surrounded by the dead browns. Super sharpness and details. The grey sky accentuates the glow of the pool. I am not surprised at the name of the place- it like a dream. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Steve,
Clever use of the Grad filter. The dramatic clouds provide a nice contrast with the turquoise water and the composition looks brilliant.
Thanks for sharing

Hallo Stephen!
What a gorgeous and impressive place! Nature as a sculptor - wonderful. The a bit threatening sky adds a lot to the atmosphere here and this greenish "channel" is a beautiful detail. A place to marvel ...
Greetings from Germany!

Hello Stephen
A well choosen point of view with a good emphasis on the pool rather than on the waterfall. Good natural colours and the turquoise flow with the clear rocks brings a lively accent.

I like the way we look the waterfall and then the turquoise pool in between 2 layers of brown rocks and the stone out of the water adds some point to focus on.
Kind regards

Here the basic color scheme is again the first thing that catched my eye. But I also like the composition with the diagonal channel leading to the waterfall and the craggy mountains beyond, as well as the single rock peaking out of the water.

Hi Stephen,
A striking image with excellent depth, stunning clarity, and very effective use of light and shadows. I like the diagonal lines of the stream reaching across the image away from the waterfall. Good work as always and TFS. Gerald

Hi Stephen, I think this shot is one of my favourites of Scotland, and I'm not talking just of your work. That strip of emerald is truly magical, making your title even more befitting. I love the use of the vertical here to emphasise the cascade and the green stripe. This really is an extraordinary piece of photography, thanks for sharing it, Lisa.

Hi Stephen,
This one really is a beauty and you certainly chose an appropriate title. The low light and long exposure have caught a lovely atmosphere and the details and texture of the rock are crystal clear.Fantastic work.....have a great day.

Hello Stephen,
Very good composition fully using the capability of the wide angle in a vertical frame.
The turquoise veins is driving the look to the fall.
Very good exposure, not so easy to reach under heavy grey sky.
Yves.

Hi Stephen,
I'm agree with the comments about the beauty of the place, the diferent tones of the water, and the depth that the turquoise water gives to the shot, I like to see this place in a sunny day,it must be a nice view too.
