Photographer's Note
Another but famous composition of Buachaille Etive Mor, generally known to climbers simply as The Buachaille. Its almost perfect pyramidal form, as seen from the A82 road when travelling towards Glen Coe, makes it one of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland.
Captured in quite harsh light I used a 10 stop ND filter to calm the hard shadows and create motion blur in the sky and water. Id thought about climbing this summit but its dangerous.. On 24 January 2009 three mountain climbers were killed and one sustained a serious shoulder injury. Two of the dead were from Northern Ireland and the other was from Scotland.

A wonderful photograph - it really is stunning there isn't it. I like the effects your exposure has on the sky better than I do on the water in the bottom of the picture.

Hi Stephen,
Beautiful photograph! I love how the softness of the watefall constrasts with the sharpness of the vegetation and mountain and the blurriness you added to the sky. Lighting is magnificent. In all, this photo even somehwat reminds me of the grasslands of eastern Africa...
Cheers,
Jordan

Hello Stephen,
Very nice picture, with a beautiful light.
I like your composition : an interesting foreground, and this mountain in the background.
I also like the effect in the waterfall, but I think it would have been better without the same effect in the clouds (but I know it was impossible, except if you combine to picture in post-processing).
Congratulations for this picture !

Hello Stephen,
A superb view of the rough highlands in clear natural colours and the flow of the water so well rendered. A little surprising at first to see the blurred clouds but it matches well the blurred water flows.

technically impressive, but I am not convinced by the resulting flow of the composition. to my eye, the scene seems 'spatially warped'. i almost feel as if my left eye wants to take a step back, while the right eye stays in place, a weird feeling. but then again, maybe that was the goal here.

Stephen,
This is an outstanding photograph! The long exposure afforded you supurb sharpness and DOF while blurring the moving water. The lighting and colors are great and the vertical format adds excellent depth to the scene.

Hi Stephen,
yes, this is a well-recognized mountain and you've done exceptionally well in capturing it. I love the blurred clouds and that silky water.
Great shot!
Take good care,

Wow.
I wish I had some hope of capturing an image so well, so beautifully as this one...
The blur of the flowing water and the blowing clouds make it seem as if it were in constant motion. The perceived movement catches my attention while trying to look at the mountain. It is easier to look at the entire image than any particular part.
This is awesome, Stephen. I have plenty of photographic books that have images that don't come anywhere close to this. I have to mark this as a favorite - it is one of the finest landscapes I have seen here...
Congrats!

Hi Stephen,
Your time exposure did wonders witht the movement of the water, but also rendered the clouds in a soft focus condition - different and quite effective. Well done and TFS. Gerald

You are THE MAN!
We can almost smell this place in the way you present this picture... Very good colors and shapes! I would try a little less time of exposure just to see if the sky maintains still, but is a great photo. Very good work.

Hello Stephen.
I have found this picture in the TE home page.
Is a wonderful photo with a magic atmosphere given by the very long exposure. The composition is perfect, worthy of a manual of photography.
