Photographer's Note
The days are long during the Scottish Summer and this photo was taken during the last moments of dusk, just before midnight.
The lighthouse rests on the tidal island of Ornley just off the southern coast of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. The light from the lighthouse stays illuminated for a good 7 seconds at a time making exposures relatively easy.

This is nice, and I'm guessing that it was taken quite late in the day. I would consider beefing up the brightness a little to bring more detail out - but don't overdo it.
Do you use a P&S? It usually is a good idea to use the smallest Aperture you can get away with in such a shot, to maximize the depth of field. Here you seem to have used the largest aperture, but I'm guessing that this was 'decided' by the camera due to the low light.
I usually strap the camera to a tripod in conditions such as these, and I've been able to get down to f/22 after the sun's gone down.
Wonderful place though, and you made a good decision to leave the sky in (though I guess other people will want you to crop it out - DON'T). Consider cropping out a bit of the bottom though to lose those branches.
Ron.

Nice picture, je crois que la photo a ιtι volontairement assombrie par son auteur. Voir sur le Workshop, ou j'ai effectuι quelques modification avec un lιger recadrage.

An extremely powerful image. As Ron says, resists all suggestions to crop off the top. The posted workshop has drawn out more detail but I feel the image has lost some of its impact at the same time. I expect there are ways to lighten the foreground and the lighthouse without impacting on the sky, but I don't know how.

Lovely moody shot, as has been said it might be improved by tweaking it to brighten it up just a little, but still a good image as it stands.

Nice shot! I love this dark blue sky and I like that lighthouse in the middle of this picture even if it breaks the rules of thirds. Just out of curiosity I'll post a WS with a different cropping.
Didi's version with a brighter sky is also quite nice.

I love the dark brooding nature of this. Especially the imposing big dark sky.
(I might have been tempted to crop the foreground water though.)

Very beautiful scenery, moody and even a bit sad perhaps.
Crop of the bottom is definitely needed but I wouldn't make the colour much lighter. I wonder how a print on transparent paper would like? A wonderfull Christmas card maybe...

Good picture. I agree with Ron about lesser aperture to obtain a better DOF. Your camera is a real good one (with a very luminous objective lens) and you can even increase its sensitivity to obtain a better relationship between aperture and time of exposition, Anyway, I like your photo very much ..
