Photographer's Note
Saturday night. 1:10 am.
I heard her saying: Somebody is taking pictures of me. and she looked at me. I asked: Do you mind? She didn't.

Hi Maciej,
You must have freaked that girl out!
It's "almost funny" to see the guy at the back, reading his paper, looking quite relaxed, not really bothered by the girl on the phone being photographed at 1:10 am in the street.
Nice shot and note.

a quality compo, the pole (a tree trunk i guess) seperates the girl from the rest. great light management here. TFS, Arnab

Hi Maciej
Amazing shot! And what a contrast! Nicoz is right, it is somehow strange to see the homless guy reading the paper and this girl busy on the phone.
Great capture of this Welsch night scene.
Thanks

Hej Maciej,
this is quite a nice shot. I was thinking the tree cut her foot which Id dearly love to see but then again at this angle the tree divides the beautiful woman from the beggar. It makes a real statement. Assuming ofcourse that is a beggar, I could be wrong.

Amazing framing, that 2+2 rythm is incredible (trashbin, person, trunk, person). Also a very eyecatching color mix with deep blood red and gothic prple : colors and light out from David Lynch movie or perhaps... a nightmare.
What makes it REALLY surrealistic is the so sexy move of her hand touching her leg.. this is something like a staged voyeuristic photo, with fashion colors. realy great one, Maciek.
One more question : are you shooting from the rear window of a white car?

This is terrific Maciej. It provides great storytelling possibilities as well as wonderful mood. There's something slightly strange, surreal about the scene, a bit like Gregory Crewdson. Beautiful colours and light to boot.

Hi Maciej.

Hi Maciej, for me this is one of your best shot from UK.
Composition , colours, the surreal scene (a lonely and sexy dressed woman calling with the homeless reading on the background...simply a genius you are), the contrast between her sparkling shoes and the dirt ground with the remains of fried chips...everything works for me in this shot.

Pozna dyskoteka? Zawiedziona milosc? Klotnia z rodzicami?.. aktorka gra wspaniale.. statysta tez, robi co moze.. Operator - wspanialy :-)
Z pozdrowieniami, Agnieszka

Great work, great description of a place and of a situation.
A strong compo element is the pole, and another is the light on the lady's legs.
Nice the division of the scene throgh the pole.

Once again a picture that tells us a story. Another one you don't even need to explain for everything may be understood without not or explanation. I hope I will achieve such a quality one day. The tree that could have been obstrusive is not for it creates a frontier between this man reading and this woman on the phone, a nice snapshot on what makes people resting or taking a break.

That is an astounding picture, Maciej and I agree with everything Luko says about it, the subdivisions in the frame, the woman's suggestive gesture. I would add a termical air of sadness that comes upon a place after the feating and cheering and drinking is over...
I'm a huge fan of your Cardiff output...as you know. In a way it makes me wonder "What if Claude were to take a lot of pictures in Iceland...?)
Cheers,
Francis

excellent maciej. WHile i thought the tree worked well initially, imagine the triangle (man, woman, trashcan, each in his own "activity / thought") if it were not there (that's for the regrets). The echoed trash on both sides is good. I think the picture would justify taking out that piece on the bottom right.

Another good and interesting night-life street scene, Maciej.
I keep wondering how you manage through Cardiff streets at night with your expensive equipment and never get into trouble? Never have problems with so many drunk youngsters? Do yo walk alone or in a company?

Maciej,
A very very impressive shot. Wonderful contrasts and such tension in the way she is caressing her leg. A very well seen shot. Super street work.
