Photographer's Note
Cardiff central. St. Mary street. Friday night. Last night was very good mood on st. mary street. Lots of people went out for drink, dance, fun and stuff like that. About 2 o'clock in the morning some policman said to me: if he sees me taking pictures of people he will arrest me, because I don't have a permission to photograph this people. When I try to speak with him, he say :you will be arrested. I don't know what to think about this? Really I don't know. He crashed all my good mood and it was finish pictures anyway.

nice compo here radek, the garish neon blue works well with the red dress, and the hand coming out of nowhere.
this is the trouble these days, you're not allowed to photograph anything in public without some trouble it seems..

kolejne ciekawe zdjecie. Kurde, ta reka mnie powala bo pojawila sie tak jakos dziwnie, znikad. Znowu mocne kolory, czerwien bardzo fajna ale te niebiskie kaluze sa tu dobijajace. Ciekawy uchwyciles moment.

Hi Radek,
I know what you mean about restrictions when taking pictures...I am having the same problems in certain parts of the city. I tell them that they should put up signs saying not to take pictures, as we are not to know otherwise...
Anyway. back to your picture...it is slightly confusing, as it is difficult to tell if she is sitting on his lap?
This scene is all too familiar and it is well caught...

This is one of those pictures that invite you to follow the clues to work out what's going on. The empty glass, his wonky leg position - I'd guess she's looking after worse-for-wear boyfriend.
I've enjoyed this series of pictures. You certainly have some pluck to wander around capturing these images.
Regarding the policeman: it's not illegal to take pictures of anyone in the UK. He couldn't arrest you just for that. I'm no expert but my guess is he would cite "behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace" as his reason for arrest.

You have a very personal eye, I discover your gallery and find it really interesting. Here I like the life that comes out of the people even though we see only the woman's back and the man's hand... Also the empty beer pitcher reveals that the night has been long already. Interesting point of view, and nice colors: blue light on the pavement, red dress... Well done!
As for the policeman's reaction, I find that very strange, I didn't know there was such a law in England.

hi radek...
a wonderful photograph. great composition, and the colours are good too. despite the warmth of the moment, there is a coldness in the photograph whic works extremely well, especially with the empty jug in foreground.
the problem with western europe is that people there are politically too correct. so they have problems with everything, including photography. i guess it's best to discreet and not worry about the police.
