Photographer's Note

SPECIAL OCASSION
I am really bad in uploading photos which would be suitable for certain occasions. Some people are masters: emka has for example taken a photo of a clock on 11.11.2011 at 11:11 European time and uploaded it so that the uploading time was also 11:11 in California CLICK HERE TO SEE IT. Obviously photos related to special occasions are very annoying for moderators, and this is because quite often people choose for special occasions photos which are at the limits of acceptability. Many TE members have left this site after the conflicts which started in the exactly this way. So may be just the fact that I never uploaded a photo for a special occasion is the reason why I have never had any problem with moderators? Who knows may be this will be the first case.

ST. VALENTINE
There is already in my gallery a much more suitable photo for Valentines day: CLICK HERE. It is a photo of the Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin which is noted for having the relics of Saint Valentine, which were donated to the church in the 19th century by Pope Gregory XVI from their previous location in the cemetery of St. Hippolytus in Rome.
In Poland we traditionally never celebrated Valentines day but recently together with Halloween and other American traditions it has diffused into our culture.
Personally I never celebrate this day because I have several other special days to celebrate with my wife around this day. So even if moderators delete this upload I wont bother too much.

WHAT YOU SEE IN THIS PHOTO
I have already presented here one photo from my trip to Rathlin Island CLICK HERE. In the note to that photo you can read more about Puffins and about Rathlin Island which is one of the best bird-watching spots in Ireland. What we were lucky to see was a very interesting behaviour of Puffins. Some of them stayed to watch the young chicks while other went fishing. Upon return they were greeting each other in a way which very much resembled our kissing on both cheeks. It looked like they were really missing each other... Sadly the birds are rather small and were quite a distance from myself so even 300mm (x1.6) lens did not help much and I had to crop the image to zoom into the scene. Hence the quality of the photo could be better.

ABOUT THE TITLE
You may have already come across the saying: Kiss me Im Irish. The phrase is quite often used on souvenirs from Ireland, T-shirts, etc. What does it mean? I have tried to investigate it with the internet and found a variety of answers, all of them were not very convincing though. Will it bring a good luck? I dont know. I just thought it is very appropriate for this photo.
