Photographer's Note
During some resent bad weather I couldn't resist going down to the sea front of the town of Redcar were I live to capture the waves crashing over the sea defences, it was indeed a awesome sight, apart from strong winds I also had to brave hail rain sleet & snow to bring you this shot, hope you like.

I just mentioned this in Adrian's picture from Whitby Irene.
It must've been worrying for those with property along the front!
Very good action shot - might almost be worth emailing to Look North or the local paper.

Hi Irene,
Nice timing to capture the waves crashing onto the shore, never trust the sea water though, can be quite unfriendly with your camera specially with the moisture if you get too close. To be honest I would have preferred a higher POV here (I am not familiar with this place so I dont know if there was any possibilty) just to get a glimpse of the sea in the background. Here the waves are a bit too overwhelming.

Hi Irene,
Well done for braving all the bad weather for this shot. You've managed to capture the energy of the sea here, something respected by anyone who lives near the coast.
Best regards,
Paul.

All due respect to you Irene for braving the conditions. I know you could have been swept out to sea and this road was later closed. You have captured the anger of the sea perfectly. It was a dramatic couple of days. Well done.

Hi Irene, WOW what a capture, the wave looks powerful enough to sweep you of your feet, excellent timing & very good POV, the sky looks fairly bright & not stormy enough to ralley up a wave like that, great shot & TFS, also I will remember you are in Redcar from now on, I once when to the races there & had a great day, lost a fortune though, kind regards Wilson.

Irene,
It looks like a dangerous place to take photographs . Did your camera get wet ?
You certainly captured the power of the ocean .

Hi Irene
Great shot of the breaking wave. You've really captured the full fury of the sea. I hope you used the long end of the lens. I wouldn't want to get too close to that :-)
Cheers

Irene,
please don't ever again come THAT
near to the wall when the waves are
THAT big! Honestly!
Here in Scarborough every year a few
end up in the sea for no reason - only
because they're not aware of how dangerous
it can be.
The shot itself lacks in contrast, but this
is easy to fix in any photo editor. What
makes this shot for me though, is the drama
of it!
Huh - very powerful!

Missed that one before - wow, you must have gotten real wet taking this shot! Remember doing the same thing in Hawaii once while everyone else had the good sense to hide indoors!
Cheers

A really dramatic shot Irene, well captured and hopefully not at excessive risk? Alastair's workshop is good, but it's your composition that's the strong point on this shot. Nice one.
cheers
Leon
