Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
My photograph, as you might suspect, was taken in The Lowry, where there is a large exhibition of paintings by L.S.Lowry.
We were enjoying the exhibition when I noticed these two lads, possibly brothers, of different ages, studying the paintings.
The younger of the two found a figure that looked like himself and was asking the older brother to find his own likeness. "That's me, which looks like you?"
On this day, Len and I had met up with Claude, Rob and Annelies for a tour of Salford. Rob and Annilies were on a tour of the U.K. whilst Claude was visiting his daughter in Manchester.
Despite the inclement weather that Rob had brought over from The Netherlands (he promised sunshine) we had a really enjoyable day.
I will add a second photograph in the workshop.
Have a really happy, and safe, weekend, Bev :-)

The many figures in the drawing deserve a long look, and that's what those guys did, I think.
A nice take inside the museum, Beverley, not an easy task I reckon while observing people watching art.
Wish you a nice weekend,
ike

Hem Bev.... ifI remember it was not permitted to take pictures of the Lowry exhibition, but as you say, you were interested by the 2 boys chatting about the characters of the painting. Good intercation!
Stay safe

Hello Bev,
This is obviously the kind of painting that could keep people busy for quite a while. It's also the kind of gallery photo I like. There is such a strong connection between the painting and the two boys looking at it. You captured a very nice "quiet action". In the WS the "gentleman in red" contrasts perfectly against the monochrome photos.
Thank you for your critique today. Yes, Burkina Faso was a very nice and relaxed country. It was popular with expat workers because it was safe and friendly.
Kind regards,
Gert

hello Bev,
Two lovely photographs which will not only continue to remind you of a lovely and friendly meeting in Manchester with Claude, Rob and Annilies - but are also delightful images in their own right!
Photographs of people in art galleries are always fascinating for, as well as allowing us to appreciate the artworks, they also allow us to view the reactions of the viewers to them - and your main image is a very fine example. And what a lovely picture your workshop image is too - of Rob surrounded by photographs, almost mesmerised and trying to decide which of those images first to study in detail.
Wonderful!
You take care and stay safe.
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Beverley,
Almost exactly a year ago! A great photo of these two boys studying the painting closely. It is always great to see when children get to learn to appreciate art at an early age. Very good photo of these two with artwork in between them.

Hello Beverley, I like the idea that one would view this picture by Lowry and attempt to identify oneself in the painting.
The two brothers are really studying this picture, a lovely thing to see.
I am a great fan of Lowry, so this shot is a winner for me.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

funny to see rob as a personage, as he uses to do with the other people inside museums. haha
nice the attention of these two guys in front the artwork. the artwork shows a huge square with many people, looks similar the two canvas I am painting, but I like more the mines. haha.

Hello Bev,
'That's Me' ..... I thought one of them is you until I read your note. Silly me ! here I go again. Must be fun meeting up with friends.
To be honest, are the two lads...really studying the paintings or they knew they were being photographed - posing for you. Just a hunch - that's me :-)
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Beverley,
So far I've tried only once to take a lot of pictures in a museum. It wasn't easy at all then.
Most people didn't stand still long enough and others unexpectedly jumped in front of my camera.
Maybe I should start by looking for a work of art where visitors take more time to study it, like these two guys do with this work.
You have clearly succeeded in getting both boys and the artwork completely in the picture.
In the WS you caught Rob as he usually does with others :)
Best regards, Paul

Hello Bev,
Thank you for this memory of our meeting from 1 year + 1 day ago.
Of course I immediately recognized Lowry.
No words are needed, I think my workshop photos speak for themselves.
Red was clearly the colour of the day.
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Bev,
Good interaction between the 2 contemplative boys and the painting, with a nice 3d effect. Excellent sharpness and pastel colours. Tfs!
