Photographer's Note
the best way to discover the english cities is the front seat at the top of a double decker.
The sun was still peering through the dark clouds and illuminating the wet roads, giving a dramatic feeling.

Hello Claude
Sometimes the unique combination of light after a rain storm gives such a dramatic image. It's about the only good thing a\bout the english weather! Heading into Manchester towards Cheetham Hill? I now this area quite well it is not far from my home town of St Helens so I used to shop a lot at Chettham Hill market on Sunday mornings.
Great atmospheric shot - thanks for sharing.

Bonjour Claude,
Un contre-jour magistral orchestrι par un ciel du tonnerre et des reflets sur le bitume humide qui rιpercutent des faisceaux lumineux offrant une ambiance urbaine extraordinaire. Un exercice difficile parfaitement maξtrisι.

Hello Claude - I agree, the front seat of a Double Decker is the very best place to sit and watch the views unfold. This is a wonderfully expressive image. The light and the way you have processed and presented the shot adds drama and interest to a rather banal view. A marvellous shot.
Warm regards

Bonjour Claude,
Il y a toute une atmosphθre qui se dιgage de cette composition. On a l'impression que les gens sont pressιs de rentrer pour se mettre ΰ l'abri. J'aime beaucoup les ombres sur le trottoir.

Hello Claude. What a fantastic light, - in which the people are silhouettes. The title explains the phenomenon. The strong contrasts are ideal for such scenes.

Hello Claude,
very well taken street scene. The mood of coming storm is everywhere starting from the sinister looking sky in the background to people rushing home. I very much like the darker colors and well managed game of the lights and shadows which enhances the whole atmosphere.
Well composed and nicely framed.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Claude
I must admit that the strong backlight effect looks great in this scene where it adds uniqueness to this street photography turning it to almost black & white. The silhouetted figs on the left frame is the most engaging subject, but the shadows that are thrown also add to the dynamism and the atmosphere, this is more than a street photo, painting with light! everything here is so attractive: spontaneity, long shadows and dynamic... A lovely well thought out shot nicely done, Congrats
Best regards

Bonjour Claude,

Hi Claude
you know we say it all the time...its all about the lighting!!!
and here is the best proof of all.
the way the light strikes the walkway on the left and the street is fabulous.

Hello Claude,
I really like this. Hulme looks more like some town in America here. Something about the sky, the light and the wide road. Great light and I love the way the light plays on the wet pavement. Riding double deckers is a good way to enjoy street photograpy, I've done it myself in Edinburgh.

Bonjour Clodo,
Indeed a very well observed and perfectly managed shot on a difficult lighting condition. I love the almost monochromatic tone and the sort of drama it exudes. Splendid shot!
Have a nice day!

Hi Claude,
There is a nice drama created in the image with that dark sky and special light from the storm. I like the lines of the road leading us into the composition and the comings and goings of people is a nice addition too.

Hello Claude,
The weather was just perfect for a dramatic image. I love the silvery and grey tones punctuated with small touches of bright colour. The couple walking on the pavement anchor the image wonderfully.
Excellent!
Kind Regards, Ann

Hi Claude!
This is a very good shot, with a great atmosphere! I like the composition and the wet ground really makes all the difference. Good idea to inlude these people on the left.
A good momenet to get a different shot!
